Over 60 SEC children and parents took part in the Robin Hood Mini Marathon Schools’ Challenge. A fantastic event at the Victoria Embankment saw our very youngest (aged 4) to our eldest (aged 11) run side by side.
As always, the SEC community gathered for the Crossdale Drive 11k and Fun Run. It was to be another tightly contested result in the Primary Team Challenge. The places of the first 4 runners combined contribute towards the team and we were a very commendable 2nd place, just 4 positions behind the winners, Willow Brook
The SEC boys footballers have enjoyed a busy and successful start to the term with victory in the prestigious Rushcliffe Autumn 6 aside – a feat last achieved back in 2009. Having beaten Heymann 1-0 in a closely contested final, it now means that the boys go on to represent Rushcliffe in bid to become Nottinghamshire champions and who knows… on to National champions! Watch this space. So far, over 20 of the Year 6s have represented the school in matches against Ruddington, Abbey Road and Edwalton
An equally impressive start to the term for the SEC girls’ footballers, with many having never played before. We showed our strength in depth at the Rushcliffe 7 aside entering not just one team, but 3 – including a very talented group of year 5s (and a year 4!) 14 matches were played in total with an overall record of 7 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses. Heymann await in the Rushcliffe Cup first round and Carnarvon in the County Cup. Watch this space.
